On Saturday night a guy broke into my house when I was at home! I was downstairs and I heard some noise in the upstairs kitchen and since nobody’s home except me I was startled, so I went upstairs and I saw some black/latino (maybe Cuban?) guy in the middle of my kitchen. I started walking towards him and asking him who he was etc… he said “Oh sorry, I have the wrong house, I thought this was my girlfriend’s house" (Yeah right, like you wear leather gloves, climb a 6ft fence, and bust the back door in the middle of the night when you go to your girlfriend’s house!) I approached him in a fighting pose - I was ready to bang with this dude - and he backed out the sliding door. I closed the door, grabbed a big knife from the counter, then went outside to chase after him. He hopped the fence and took off... then having a moment to think about it I let him go, because who knew if he had a gun or not...
It must have looked like no one was home because, I had all the lights off except one room downstairs which has no windows. He knocked on the front door but I didn't answer since I was dirty from renovating and didn't want to change my clothes to answer the door. Five minutes later he broke in from the back. The motion sensor lights did nothing to scare him... I can't help but think if I was eldery or a small woman it may have turned into a home invasion.
